Working Arrangements when a Black Rainstorm Warning or Tropical Cyclone Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted

Working arrangements for contract service staff when a Black Rainstorm Warning (the warning) or Tropical Cyclone Signal No.8 or above (the signal) is hoisted are based on the general guidelines adopted by the clients of ITP for their regular staff. Typical guidelines are follows:

  1. All non-essential staff and essential staff not on duty are not required to report for duty when the warning/signal is hoisted before normal working hours and in force during normal working hours.
  2. All staff other than essential staff are released when the signal is hoisted during working hours while staff working indoors should continue their work when the warning is hoisted during working hours. Essential staff should continue to work till the next shift of essential staff report for duty or released by their supervisors.
  3. When the warning/signal is lowered 3 hours or more before end of working hours, all staff are required to return to work as soon as possible and within 2 hours after lowering of the warning/signal.

  4. When the warning/signal is lowered less than 3 hours before the end of working hours, staff other than essential staff are not required to report for duty. Essential staff on duty should continue working till the next shift of essential staff report for duty or released by their supervisors.
